There's a lot of information on that subject in books on ancient Greek and Roman magic; I don't recall seeing any book for practitioners, but you should be able to figure out what to do. The most interesting difference is that most Greek and Roman talismans were little statues rather than disks with words and figures on them -- you can see in the latter the impact of the Jewish and Muslim distrust of graven images. Thus to make a talisman of Mars, for example, you'd make a little wax or lead statue of the god Mars, armed and armored, during an appropriate astrological election. Or for vitality and virility...
