The OSA was created by American occultists in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and so, yes, its ideas are strongly shaped by American Protestant Christianity. I have no idea how universal the system is; I know that I'm a polytheist, and the lessons helped me a great deal. But your mileage may of course vary.
