I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but people who need an organ transplant are one population that should never, ever have a blanket medical mandate placed on them for anything. These are prople who are likely to need highly specific and personalized medical protocols and have very specific contraindications.

I have a dark view of organ transplanting anyway since my brother was an organ donor. I definitely felt pressured to take him off life support so they could sell his organs to someone else. I don’t know, maybe there really was zero chance of him ever waking up… but the whole thing could have been handled differently.
