I'd be a little more specific, or perhaps nitpicky. Each of the things we're discussing -- life, God, and the universe -- is an abstract universal term embracing an infinity of subordinate things or qualities. To pick one of those things or qualities out of the multitude -- suffering, love, or mind -- and say that this one thing defines the whole universal term is absurd; my examples were an attempt to show just how absurd they are.
