Thank you for this. Radioactive stuff is certainly an issue, but plastic breaks down over time; a hundred thousand years is, if I understand correctly, more than enough time for plastic even in relatively sheltered locations to disintegrate into microplastic fragments -- and that's to say nothing of what will happen as evolution leads bacteria to specialize for feeding on the very convenient high-carbon, high-hydrogen food source of plastic!
