I am reading Papus' Elementary Treatise of Occult Science. His explanation of the Law of Analogy baffles me. I meditated on this and realized how my own background is the block - in my mind analogies belong to realm of SAT tests, bad sermons by protestant lay ministers, etc. I see how analogies can help communicate a complex idea, but my intellectual background is one that views them as weak arguments at best. Can you explain this better and/or point me to a good source of study?
