The farmer's party BBB won 22% of seats, not even close to a majority. To understand the election result, look at two additional questions. Where did those votes come from, and is BBB really a farmer's party?

Most of their voters switched from FvD, the only Corona and EU skeptic party. This is why the European Union congratulated BBB on their victory.

BBB presents itself as representing farmers, whereas their voting record and directors represent Big Agro. BBB was founded by ReMarkable, an advertising agency working for biochemical giant Bayer. BBB candidates are former members of establishment parties. BBB accepts the reduction in farms and only questions its speed, proposing a delay from 2030 to 2035. The only place where they are pro-farmers is in the media.

So the election did mark a change, but in the opposite direction of what the media report.
