It depends very much on what spiritual goals you have and what material goals you have. Occult training goes very well with a career as a freelance writer, which is why so many occultists have made their living writing; you need a strong will and a vivid imagination for both, so they support each other, and they don't interfere with each other to any degree. If I'd set out to be an occultist and a stockbroker, I'd have made a mess of one, the other, or both, because those aren't anything like as compatible. If you choose your spiritual and material goals well, and work hard at both, yes, you can achieve both at roughly the same time.
