Accept that you're angry, sad, fearful, or what have you. Those are normal human emotions, and you do yourself no good by bottling them up. However, you also do yourself no good by encouraging them and wallowing in them, as so many people do. Accept the feelings, and accept them as your feelings, not objective qualities about the world or other things in it -- for example, it's not that the world or some person or thing in it is hateful, it's simply that you're feeling anger. Then let the feeling go.
