In the Dolmem Arch Vol 1 p165/169 it uses the rotation of the left hand to fingers upwards as the close (with a clap), and reading through DA Vol2 p17-20 Introduction to the art of druid healing / Awakening the palm centres - the bit where it says: " Notice that the hand that corresponds to the solar current awakens the symbols linked to the telluric current and vice versa"

That has me wondering if that is part of the explanation - that not only activating is required but that orientation brings polarities into play... or something like that... The hints you have included in the texts are most tantalisng.
