One of which is that it's common for layoffs to be done in bunches; so it'll depend on when exactly the next round of scheduled layoffs are going to hit; it'll also depend on whether or not you actually contribute to the company, with some positions being more likely to be dependent on actual contributions than others; rank, with higher ups being less likely to face this sort of issue, provided they perform; and so on through a host of factors.
