My friend is not doing well. He is a Navy SEAL who got shot to pieces in the "sandbox", has died 3 times, is missing a few feet of one of his intestines, and has at least two organs that he wasn't born with. His donor kidney is on the fritz. Now that he has turned 50, he drops down the list for donor organs that might be available. And worse, his pancreas won't tolerate a different kidney, so he will need a pancreas and a kidney during that surgery.
The bad news is that his doctor says the cooties fox (and apparently ALL previous foxes) don't play nice with organs, and anyone with a transplanted organ should not take them. This is one of the reasons he remains unfoxed (but not the only reason). Funny, I don't remember any mention of that when they were doing their big fox rollout. It also means that any organ that might be available for transplant needs to be unfoxed. The chances of getting a donor kidney, and a donor pancreas, and both unfoxed, seems astronomically low. Let's hope his keeps working.
Long and short of it is, there's a major problem brewing in the organ donor world. I was not aware of this before, but now I will be paying more attention. Let me know if you hear any news about this. Especially good news (if there is any). Thanks,
Donor Organs
