Been wondering about whether stoic cardinal virtues might be associated with cardinal directions. Have not had much luck finding any information online - maybe not searching for the correct search string, but anyway, have mainly been thinking on the matter. After much to-ing and fro-ing in mind (i.e. since trying to map them like that could be fools errand), I'm currently considering:
East to give birth to courage and fortitude/resilience South for self control/temperance West to be Just and have right relationship with all things and beings North to find intuition/wisdom
I'm in 4+ minds... a) attempting such a mapping could be useful or a fools errand b) the associations above are a decent effort c) the associations above are just plain wrong d) a wiser one than I might know the truth of the matter
1. Do you know if the stoic virtues were traditionally assigned or associated with directions?
2. If no, might I ask your opinion on the associations above?
