Anyone who realizes that they have enough money usually ends up walking away from the entire game and doing something else with their lives. Usually, of course, this ends up meaning they don't stay wealthy for very long, since the competition for wealth and power is usually pretty intense at the higher echelons. They may stay rich by normal standards, but the category of "extremely wealthy" is actually very easy to fall out of.
