It's difficult to see the impact and rates of these serious occurrences, the last stat I saw that I can't recall the source mentioned 1 in 800 people will experience a serious AE. Which is insanely high for a vaccine of course, but at the same time it's not something you would likely notice in your day to day.
Of course this seems to get worse and worse with more doses.
I remind myself though that we in general live in such an unhealthy society. Prior to COVID cancer was rising, obesity, mental health, etc, etc from who knows what. The food, pollution, the internet, basically everything? It's like we are conditioned to sickness and disease so it doesn't feel as jarring as it should be to see stories of people dying.
At the end of the day, with celebrity culture, no one truly knows the people in the stories unless they are die hard fans, when it doesn't affect your life I think it becomes easy for people to filter out and not make connections.
