Speaking of evil systems, I was just dealing with the utility companies this morning... it turns out that in the city I just moved to, the power company decided sometime back that local offices were a thing of the past, and no longer needed. So they don't have one. It's also impossible to get a human being on the phone, and none of their website options would give me the letter I needed to take to the gas company, to get my gas turned on.

If this is how the internet makes everything better, I'll cheer when it dies.
