Money is the lifeblood of a mercantile society. As long as there is money to be made there will be lawyers angling to get their cut. There is plenty of blood in the waters, ready to spark a feeding frenzy. Any time now.
Corrupt, honest, or merely incompetent, judges have to swim in these waters, same as any govt official. Their decisions will affect their own positions of power, pay, and influence. Should civil society break down judges will get none of the above. Therefore they are obliged to keep a close eye on the moods and movements of the masses. Who and what judges are will become evident very soon. We will know soon enough if they want to preserve the state of the union, remain servile to the power of the deep state, or merely save their own skins.
It does no harm to prod the sleeping lions of the judiciary. They are in a cage of their own choosing. The judiciary does not care about justice, it only cares about precedence.
It is up to individual people –as it always is – to push for and secure the right governance of law. No justice will ever be done by any government. The interned Japanese and German citizens know this. The indigenous peoples of this continent know this. People formerly enslaved know this. Justice cannot be obtained for crimes of war and mass money-mongering.
But the followers of Sante Klaus (authoritarian deluxe), the medico-monsters and PharmaStasi, the media perpetrators of fraud and all of them perpeTRAITORS to the U.S. Constitution can be jailed and fined till their noses bleed green ink. They can be convicted of treason too. If the masses say so and make it stick. And the lawyers will happily wade in so long as there is money to be gained by doing the job.
When the petro-dollar collapses into a puddle of poodle-poo, then we can forget about jurisprudence. At that point, the Tree of Liberty might be in line for a refreshing drink. Till then, it pays for little fish to keep snapping at the bulging wallets hanging off the bulging rear-ends of the hyper rich, and causing them to bleed more money into the waters already churning with the thrashing tails of many sharks. And that is no fantasy.
