They're a mix of people who avoid mainstream media and seek alternative sources, people who largely ignore the media, and people who watch only politically right-wing media like Fox. (I've noticed the Fox-watchers have become especially fond of Tucker Carlson of late.)
Conspicuously absent are any consumers of CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, etc.
Maybe part of the odd bedfellows aspect is that we're seeing a combo of one side of the political spectrum (right) with independents, and the independents come from all over the place and make for strange bedfellows.
