Open (More or Less) Post on Covid 5

The semi-open posts  I've hosted here on the Covid-19 narrative, the inadequately tested experimental drugs for it, and the whole cascading mess surrounding them have continued to field a huge number of comments, so I'm opening another space for discussion. The rules are the same as before: 

1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry et al. are causing injury and death. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.

2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its tame politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here. 

3. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules. 

With that said, the floor is open for discussion.

Isn't it odd that now now one cares about the vaccines anymore? As soon as it was proven that Delta wasn't scary enough and vaccine mandates/approvals and such are being reigned back, lo and behold the Mu variant comes out and it's even more contagious and deadly and now the vaccinated need booster shots.

I feel that a breaking point has been reached, people have spent their last few brain cells and have lost patience with whatever and whoever has been En vogue, much to the detriment of a few movements and individuals. It's rather laughable how things have been turning out.

Oh, I assure, there are still people who care about the vaccines.

Most of the upper-middle class liberals I come into contact with are still very much obsessed with them. Talking about theirs and wailing about the people who won't get them. I just had a have-I-died-and-gone-to-hell? conversation the other day with a group of pod people who talked about, among other things, how they "took the chance" of getting together with extended family this summer, after everyone was vaccinated and submitted a negative covid test; the logistics of getting covid tests for teens so that they can hang out together (all the teens are vaccinated, of course); still wearing masks in all public places (one of them talked about how she is still doing that, she tried going maskless briefly in June but the situation is still just too scary!); and the horror at how there are people who "don't believe in the vaccine" at work and it's just terrifying (the person who is terrified of her unvaxxed coworkers is not only vaccinated, but she and her family already had covid and all recovered at home without incident). Oh, and they had a discussion about which types of covid tests were the most reliable in asymptomatic people. This wasn't even last year. This was last week.

You cannot make this stuff up.

Remember, these are the professional, educated members of society - they're the ones who manage things and make decisions. And my first-hand experience is that they have gone utterly insane. The lunatics are running the place.

In my experience I went to a "super spreader" event here in my home state where less than 50% of people are fully vaccibated. A Renaissance fair. It was the busiest I've ever seen that ren fair and few people cared to wear masks. Screw social distancing. It was as if nothing happened. Well obviously somethibg happened otherwise it wouldnt have been as busy the two days it was open, but my one lunged elderly mil who was the only face painter there and her apprentice had 10-20 people waiting the entire time they were there. And then elsewhere no one gives. Some buisnesses are requiring proof but people are chosing not to dine, shop, or visit there because of the obvious medical discrimination...then I've encountered a few Vaccine Salt Lake Utahns, though mostly at work...in Salt Lake City none the less lol.

I think its important to ponder in regards to your statement how our "society" is mostly garbage at this point and professional and educated don't mean what they used to. Covid, Trump, anything that has happened in the past 20 years is not operating in a vacuum. It's all connected in some form or another. Lots of people make the comparison to Weimer Germany before WW2 and i think that is very apt. Think of what those people had gone thru in the prior 20 years before WW2 and what most americans have gone thru in the past 20 years. Spooky when you get down into the weeds.

Er - yes. That was kind of my point. The professional and educated have largely gone insane.
