I found out last week that the various PCR tests being run at the facility where I currently work are being run at 45 cycles. As I understand it, the likelihood of false positives grows exponentially above 28-30 cycles. This, I thought, is an interesting point for consideration.

We already know that the PCR test does not distinguish between live and dead viral RNA. I suspect that this means that some people may continue to test positive for several weeks after they're no longer infectious.

I thought that some of you might find this interesting.
