Open_Space, thanks for this. That makes a great deal of sense. Getting attached to a simulacrum of nature created by people is extremely risky, of course, because of the positive feedback: the people who are dependent on faux-nature are also creating faux-nature, either directly in their work hours or indirectly by choices that influence the market and are used as guidance by those who create faux-nature, and so a minor imbalance can blow up into mass psychosis with frightening ease.
