Alan LeoIt's almost midnight, so here we go with a new Magic Monday. The picture is of Alan Leo (real name William Frederick Allan), a prominent British Theosophist and one of the prime movers of the late 19th century revival of astrology.

Ask me anything about occultism and I'll do my best to answer it. Any question received by midnight Monday Eastern time will get an answer, though it may be Tuesday sometime before I get to them all.

I've had several people ask about tipping me for answers here, and though I certainly don't require that I won't turn it down. You can use the button below to access my online tip jar.

With that said, have at it!

***This Magic Monday is now closed to new questions. See you next week!***

Yes, it varies and I think depends on how you interpret the cards. If you have decided to learn tarot divination by a strictly empirical, 1:1 relationship between a card and a meaning, then suite cards with just a number and suite indicator may work for you.

But I find my best, most specific interpretations come to me from images on the cards that may or may not have to do with the usual/traditional meaning of the card. It's kind of the same mindset you would use for scrying. You have to be aware of ideas that come into your head that seem significant and not dismiss them...for example, I once noticed that a leaf on a card reminded me of an old logo of a business. It was on the card next to the King of Cups reversed. Lo and behold, later in the day someone tried to scam me using a confidence scheme (King of Cups reversed) that hinged on a supposedly "official" website that used that old, incorrect logo.

If one of your goals of divination is to learn to notice signs, serendipity, etc. in every day life and correctly interpret such signs and use the knowledge to your advantage, then you may find illustrated tarot cards to be helpful.
